Frozen waterfalls during Winter in the Alps are in abundance and there are many excellent climbing areas.  Chamonix, Cogne, Kandersteg and La Grave, to name a few.

La Grave , an unspoilt village in the Oisans region of the French Alps. La Meije 3900m, looks down on the valley below which has an abundance of waterfalls and fantastic ice-climbing, many of these are accessible with less than half an hours walk.

The Vallon du Diable, is only a 45 minute drive from La Grave, another Valley with beautifull Ice lines and Marie Claude's famous bar " La Cordee".

Ice climbing courses are 6 days long, Saturday to Saturday and cost 690 pounds per person.

Accomodation is around 50 euros per person, breakfast and dinner.

Other costs are minimal.
